This article is so cool and inspiring. The town of San Pedro La Laguna has gone plastic free. The government fully supported this by collecting plastics and single use items from their constituents, then bought reusable bags from craftsmen and distributed them. There are also hefty fines for breaking the law!

We overshot emissions estimations this year largely due to economic growth. The emissions from the US power sector as a whole increased by almost 2%. Time to do our part.

University of Washington (2015)

TLDR Version: Throwing away food scraps is not the same as composting. Landfills are anaerobic and produce methane gas which has 72X the global warming potential of CO2 in a 20 year time horizon. Composting is aerobic and allows for natural decomposition

We are behind on hitting all COP20 targets, the frequency of natural disasters (storms, floods, droughts etc.) will increase, human health and economies will be significantly impacted.
